Arsenal transfer news
Manager Arsene Wenger is in the transfer market for a new striker having allowed Germany international Lukas Podolski to join Inter Milan on loan until the end of the season.
And Wenger is keen on making a move for Destro, who has also been on the radars of Chelsea and Liverpool, and has already begun with the process to meet his £20m release clause.
Destro himself is said to be open to making a move away from the Stadio Olimpico having failed to hold down a regular first team spot under Rudi Garcia this term.
Preferring to use Gervinho, Francesco Totti and Adem Ljajic, Garcia has given Destro just eight starts this season, and according to reports in Italy Wenger has already penciled in a meeting with the player’s agent, Claudio Vigorelli, to discuss a potential transfer.
