LW: Alexis Sanchez – 5
Not at his best and it’s quite clear Sanchez needs an extended rest his only moment of note was a silly yellow card he acquired for a strange, Diego Maradona-esque handball in the first half.
ST: Olivier Giroud – 8
A quite stunning display from Giroud who announced his return to the first Xi with a complete centre forward’s performance.
One goal and two assists are his rewards for the day and you’d expect he wants to continue his good form and right a few wrongs against Monaco in midweek.
