Mesut Ozil – 9/10
His first half was arguably the best half by any Arsenal player to date. A late yellow card is all that stopped Ozil from getting a perfect 10/10. His assist to Walcott wasn’t pretty, but it was effective.
Alexis Sanchez – 5/10
All of that effort and Sanchez could only make two shots, neither of which were particularly close. Surely the rust would’ve been shaken off by now, and yet… It’s been five matches and he doesn’t have a goal.
Theo Walcott – 9/10
A gorgeous goal in the first half helped alleviate what would have otherwise been a headache after several ridiculous misses earlier in the match. Nonetheless, Walcott got what he needed when it mattered the most and he may earn the start next week too.
Olivier Giroud (sub) – 7/10
One good goal doesn’t excuse how poorly Giroud played for the better part of his 15 minutes in relief of Sanchez. He needs to work on his accuracy or else this may be his last goal for a while.
