Arsenal’s title credentials will be seriously re-examined after the Gunners were thrashed 6-0 by London rivals Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Read player ratings here:
Wojciech Szczesny – 4/10
Wojciech Szczesny played reasonably well in the first half despite the goals conceded, but let Oscar’s shot slip through his grasp in the second half to open the floodgates once again.
Bacary Sagna – 4/10
Bacary Sagna put in a shift at both right back in the first half and left back in the second, but looked as shell-shocked as the rest of the team by the final whistle.
Laurent Koscielny – 3/10
Perhaps his worst ever game for Arsenal. The France international centre back was all over the place, failing to track any of the Chelsea runners and failing to help cover the Blues’ overload of the Gunners’ left flank.
Substituted at half time.
Per Mertesacker – 4/10
Per Mertesacker’s lack of pace doesn’t usually let him down because Laurent Koscielny is there to clean up behind him, but the Frenchman’s nightmare performance meant his German partner was brutally exposed on the turn with balls over the top.
Kieran Gibbs – 2/10
Kieran Gibbs had been dreadful before a wrongly allocated red card saw him sent off before half time, committing his own hand ball to concede a penalty and being constantly exposed on the left flank.
The left back has been arguably the best English player in his position this season, but showed no evidence of that today.
