Nicklas Bendtner – 6/10
Held up the ball well, and had a few fine touches, but was starved of opportunities himself – missing the only major chance he received.
Substitutes:
Santi Cazorla – 8/10
Santi Cazorla isn’t as direct a player as Lukas Podolski, but when the Gunners need to keep possession in attacking areas there are few better than the Spaniard, whose near equal comfort using either foot means he can go past players on either side.
Slotted in a fine goal to round off the victory after drifting into a central area.
Gedion Zelalem – 7/10
Still just 16 years of age, but showed excellent composure, and it was his incisive pass that set up the final goal.
There will be plenty more to come from the youngster, who is expected to sign his first professional contract on Sunday upon turning 17.
Olivier Giroud – 7/10
Was only on the pitch for 12 minutes plus extra time, but finished well from Kieran Gibbs’ cross, and provided a valuable physical presence up front.
