Olivier Giroud: 7/10
Only five players have scored more than Olivier Giroud’s 15 Premier League goals, but the Arsenal striker gets more criticism than most due to his profligacy when one on one.
Ozil’s goal highlighted the Frenchman’s lack of natural finishing ability.
However, Giroud’s sheer effort cannot be argued, and his determination and running earned him a well deserved goal.
Substitutes:
Tomas Rosicky: 6/10
Tomas Rosicky was brought on to rest Mesut Ozil, and provided a second wave of energy for Arsenal late on – if not quite the same level of quality as the German.
Mathieu Flamini: 6/10
Mathieu Flamini replaced Aaron Ramsey, and while typically he is deployed as a defensive midfielder, he played an all action role similar to the Welshman here.
Yaya Sanogo: 6/10
Everyone at Arsenal clearly wants Yaya Sanogo to score. Whether he has the requisite quality to make it with the Gunners remains in doubt, but he will certainly keep trying, running the channels and making space for others.
