Arsenal are by no means at their best at the moment, but a goal in each half from summer signing Alexis Sanchez made sure they got the win against a struggling Sunderland side at the Stadium of Light…
An unimpressive and oft wasteful Arsenal side still managed a 2-0 win at the Stadium of Light against Sunderland. An Alexis Sanchez brace helped the Gunners to a much needed victory, but they will need to improve if they are to have any hope of challenging for the top four or higher.

Here are the player ratings for Arsenal against Sunderland:
GK) Wojciech Szczesny – 6.5
Didn’t have a huge amount to do in the first half, was a little more involved in the second. Had a crazy moment when he was caught in no man’s land but Sunderland couldn’t capitalise.
RB) Calum Chambers – 6.5
Looked suspect defensively at times, and seems far more confident in the centre rather than out wide.
CB) Per Mertesacker – 7.5
Thankfully for Arsenal the BFG was extremely solid today, something he hasn’t been recently since missing Koscielny.
CB) Nacho Monreal – 6.5
Far better once he moved to left-back following Kieran Gibbs’ injury. Doesn’t look comfortable at centre-back at all.
LB) Kieran Gibbs – 7.0
A solid performance while he was on the pitch, unfortunate to pick up yet another injury.
