Manchester United have upgraded their defence with their second signing of the summer, in full-back Matteo Darmian.
However, it could now be time to sell as Arsenal are coming after United defender Jonny Evans, according to the Daily Star.
Evans is currently thought to be valued at £10m, and the Gunners are receiving competition from Everton and West Brom, who are also keen on acquiring the Northern Irishman’s signature.
It would not come as a surprise for Evans to leave after nine seasons in Old Trafford, as he made just 17 appearances for United last season.
His limited playing time was primarily due to a spitting incident in a match against Newcastle United.
This caused Evans to receive a six-game suspension, and he only made one appearance after returning from his ban.
Another reason for United to sell would be to make space for a new centre-back.
United are still pursuing Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos and Valencia defender Nicolas Otamendi, according to reports.
Ramos will not be easy to pry away from Bernabeu, but Man United goalkeeper David de Gea could be used as a bargaining chip in a possible part-exchange deal.
