Napoli and Tottenham also keen on cultured 24-year-old.
Arsenal are plotting a £20m bid for Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin after Napoli launched an offer for the 24-year-old, according to The Express.
Napoli, who are managed by former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez have bid £12m for Schneiderlin, but the Gunners are ready to offer £8m more, which would meet Southampton’s asking price.
Schneiderlin has also attracted attention from Tottenham Hotspur, with new head coach Mauricio Pochettino keen to be reunited with a player that made 33 Premier League appearances for his Saints side last season.
Having been called up as a late replacement for Clement Grenier, Schneiderlin is currently with the French national team at the FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
He played the full 90 minutes as France drew 0-0 with Ecuador in their final group game last month, a match in which he completed 65 of 70 passes attempted.
Schneiderlin, who joined Southampton from Strasbourg in June 2008, has three years left to run on his current contract at St Mary’s.
