Gunners prepare move to sign Munich youngster David Alaba this summer.
Bayern Munich left-backl David Alaba could be set for a move to Premier League side Arsenal, after the North London club promised the Austrian playing time in midfield, rather than at full-back.
The 20-year old has shown plenty of promise this season for the Bundesliga and Champions League winners, and his potential has alerted the attention of Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.
With the Austrian looking for more playing time as a central midfielder, Wenger may be interested in making an offer for the talented youngster, as he looks to add to his crop of impressive young midfielders.
Alaba recently hinted at the position change in an article with the Daily Star, and suggested that he feels more comfortable in midfield role for the club.
“The club sees me at the moment as a left defender. But I see myself as a midfielder and I have all of that in mind,” he said.
While no formal bid has been put in place yet by the Gunners, a bid at a later date could be possible if he continues to play in defence for the German side next season.
