With 32 goals over the last two years, Gabriel Barbosa has the look of a future starter at Emirates Stadium.
As Arsene Wenger makes a mysterious visit to Paris in the final hours of the summer transfer window, the Gunners are trying to make a last ditch effort to sign another big target: Gabriel Barbosa.
According to the Metro, Arsenal are lining up a transfer bid for the 19-year-old forward from Santos. The move comes as Arsenal have struggled on offense over the first month of the season. To date, Arsenal have just one goal on offense with the leading scorer for the team being “own goals.”
Barbosa has recorded 14 goals in the Brazilian Serie A and 32 total goals for Santos over the last two seasons, including a 21-goal year in Brazil back in 2014.
The Metro reported that Barbosa, who just turned 19 on Sunday, is believed to have turned down a move to Fenerbahce earlier this summer.
Barbosa is believed to have a release clause from Santos worth €50 million.
