With the transfer deadline fast approaching, Arsenal are hoping they can beat the clock and land Edinson Cavani.
It’s no secret that Arsenal are eager to get a scoring threat considering their leading scorer this season is “own goals,” so it’s no surprise that the club hopes to get a deal done for Edinson Cavani soon.
According to the Metro, Arsenal plan to beat the clock and get a deadline day deal for the Paris Saint-Germain striker after failing to land Karim Benzema. Cavani is currently rated at £44 million by the French club but is reportedly willing to help facilitate a deal.
The Gunners certainly have good cause to ramp up their efforts to land him after being placed in Group F in the Champions League with Bayern Munich, Olympiacos and Dinamo Zagreb.
Edinson Cavani finished second in league goals behind Zlatan for PSG last year but led the club with 31 total goals as the French giants won Ligue 1, Trophée des Champions, Coupe de la Ligue and Coupe de France and made it to the Champions League quarter-finals.
With the German giants and Croatian champions both sporting dynamic offenses, Arsenal need all the firepower they can get between now and mid-September, especially after getting shut out twice in their first three matches.
