Gunners looking for defensive reinforcement when the window reopens.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is ready to loosen the pursestrings in January in an attempt to bring more defensive stability to a team who have been held back by a lack of quality and depth in their back four, as well as the elusive holding midfield position, according to the Telegraph.

Wenger is believed to be considering a £24 million double bid for two players who the Frenchman believes can come in and strengthen his side as they look to ensure a top four finish, as well as significant progress in the Champions League:
Winston Reid (West Ham United)
It is well known that West Ham central defender Winston Reid is out of contract in the summer – and the New Zealander’s financial demands are currently well in excess of what the Hammers would be willing to meet. This has opened the possibility of Sam Allardyce’s side accepting a cut price January deal, with Arsenal set to test the waters with a £4m bid.
