La Liga club Real Sociedad have launched a bid to sign Arsenal forward Joel Campbell, according to reports.
The Costa Rican has been heavily linked with a move away from the Emirates, and Real Sociedad boss David Moyes is understood to be keen to bring the youngster to Spain on a permanent basis.
According to The Mirror, Real Sociedad have tabled a £6m offer for the 23-year-old in a bid to stave off competition from Portuguese giants Benfica over Campbell’s signature.
Despite arriving at the club with much promise in 2011, Campbell has only made four Premier League appearances for the Gunners and has spent stints with Lorient, Real Betis, Olympiacos and Villarreal on loan.
The Mirror suggests Campbell has made it known to the Gunners he wants a summer exit, and it is unlikely Arsene Wenger will stand in his way.
With Lukas Podolski sold to Galatasaray and Yaya Sanogo looking likely to go on loan with Ajax, Wenger may dip into the transfer market for another striker.
