CAM: Tomas Rosicky
With Mesut Ozil out wide and Ramsey preoccupied in the centre of midfield, Rosicky might get a rare, rare start – perhaps in celebration of Wenger’s confirmation the club and player have agreed to an option to extend his Arsenal contract by a year to keep him at the Emirates until 2016.
LW: Mesut Ozil
With a number of players rested and therefore the team selection shifted around, Ozil could fill in for Sanchez on the left-wing in a role he was controversially situated in earlier this season much to the annoyance of Arsenal fans.
CF: Theo Walcott
With Danny Welbeck still missing and Olivier Giroud looking absolutely knackered at the end of Wednesday’s game with Sunderland, Walcott seems the only viable option in the middle if Wenger wants to rotate his forwards ahead of the Aston Villa game.
Over the Gunners’ previous three fixtures, Walcott has come on late in the day and, using his pace and trickery, managed to change the game and fashion a few chances.
He even bagged a goal – though through a lucky deflection – against Manchester United to earn a point and keep the Red Devils at arms length.
Similarly against Sunderland in midweek, he caused chaos when he was brought on and almost managed to sneak a goal and a win for the Gunners.
If he gets the opportunity to start against the Baggies, he will try to show Wenger from the off that he once again deserves a starting role after a season in the wilderness.
