MASSIVE blow for Arsenal – Sanchez to MISS start of season after Copa America triumph
Premier League MVPs: 20 clubs ranked by best player – Arsenal & Chelsea way ahead, Man Utd also high
The 27-year-old has spent his last six seasons with Real Madrid, and he proved to be a perennial scoring threat in Bernabeu.
Benzema appears to have plenty of years ahead of him.
He scored 15 goals in 29 La Liga appearances for Real Madrid last season.
This makes him an ideal complement to Gunners forward Alexis Sanchez, who excelled in his first season at the Emirates.
Adding Benzema would be even more ideal for the Gunners now, considering Sanchez is expected to miss the start of the 2015-16 Premier League season due to his participation in Chile’s Copa America title run.
The Gunners will be facing competition from Manchester United for the French star though, as they are still looking to replace the departed Radamel Falcao.
Falcao left for Chelsea after struggling in a loan deal season for Man United.
