Arsenal set to raid La Masia youth academy again for Barcelona starlet.
Arsenal will sign 16 year-old winger Josimar Quintero from FC Barcelona, according to AS.com.
The Ecuadorian youngster, who has a Spanish passport, will move to Emirates Stadium at the end of the season to sign professional terms with the Gunners.
Arsene Wenger has made some very successful raids on the Barcelona youth academy La Masia in the last few years, with Cesc Fabregas the most notable, successful, and ultimately profitable, having been sold back to the Catalan side for around £30 million after coming through the ranks in north London.
As well as those, Arsenal have signed the likes of Hector Bellerin and Jon Toral in recent seasons, and the fact that players can turn professional a year earlier in England than Spain means that they earn much more money at the beginning of their career if they join a Premier League outfit.
Josimar is a right sided midfielder who began his career as a striker, but has also flourished as an attacking wing back in the vein of Cafu or Dani Alves.
In the next few years he could become either Bacary Sagna’s successor, or play further forward.
