After securing the services of former Chelsea stopper Petr Cech earlier today, Arsenal appear to be on the verge of signing another member of the Blues.
According to the Metro, 18-year-old Belgian attacking midfielder Charly Musonda Jr. has piqued the interest of Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and is preparing a transfer bid for the young stud. After signing Chelsea’s star goalkeeper Petr Cech for £11 million on Monday, Wenger could be poised to ransack the Premier League Champions’ roster as he tries to turn his FA Cup-winning squad into a Champion again.
Musonda, the son of Belgian football legend Charles Musonda, is considered a rising star as a midfielder and was a big part of the Blues’ success in the U-18 and U-21 leagues over the past two years. According to his profile on Chelsea FC‘s website, Musonda netted a dozen goals before the Christmas break in the U-21 league.
With a valuation of £7.2 million, Musonda would be a rather expensive purchase for such an unproven player – but Wenger has already proved that no cost is too high this summer.
