The Gunners were linked strongly with the 19-year-old for much of this summer’s transfer window, but failed to conclude a move before the deadline, with the player now expected to move to the club next season.
Rabiot and his agent have held unofficial talks with Arsenal during the recent international break, and negotiations over an official contract offer could resume when the player is free to talk to other clubs in January.
Arsene Wenger is known for getting the best out of young players and nurturing the best talent from his native France, and this may have persuaded the PSG starlet to choose Arsenal over the likes of Chelsea and AS Roma.
However, it is also thought that Arsenal’s move for Rabiot is due to Sami Khedira opting to move to Stamford Bridge over the Emirates Stadium when he leaves Real Madrid at the end of the season.
