Gunners hoping to take advantage of Ilkay Gundogan’s Dortmund contract situation.
Arsenal are preparing a January offer for Borussia Dortmund playmaker Ilkay Gundogan, report the Mirror, after the Bundesliga club told the German international that he would be sold in the summer if he does not agree to a contract extension at Signal Iduna Park.

Gundogan has just 18 months remaining on his contract with Dortmund, who will be keen not to lose another key player on a free transfer after the summer saga surrounding Robert Lewandowski, and the player’s representatives are believed to be sounding out the possibility of a January move.
Arsenal are believed to be targeting a central midfield this January – but it had been expected to be a more defensive and combatant option than silky playmaker Gundogan.
