Arsenal could be given permission to speak to Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus if the club complete the re-signing of Manchester United playmaker Shinji Kagawa, according to CaughtOffside.
The Gunners are desperate to bring in new faces upfront after learning that Olivier Giroud could miss four months through injury, and Reus has been identified as an option in that position.
However, the German international usually operates behind the striker at Dortmund, and that is the space that could be filled by Kagawa’s arrival as the Japanese attacker looks set to end his two-year stay at Old Trafford by returning to his old club.
This will come as welcome news to Arsenal, who are keeping an eye on his situation and are understood to be in the driving seat to snap up Reus if Kagawa’s move to the Bundesliga giants is successful.
The likes of Liverpool, Barcelona and Real Madrid have all been linked with Reus in recent times after his superb recent form for club and country.
