It is thought that 13.6m could be enough for the Gunners to land this highly-rated young left-back, despite Arsene Wenger already having big names such as Kieran Gibbs and Nacho Monreal fighting it out for that spot in his side this season.
Gaya looks an outstanding prospect for Spanish football after a great breakthrough season in La Liga, and his decision to refuse to commit his future to Valencia may have put Arsenal on alert for a potential bargain in the transfer market.
Valencia have struggled to keep their best players in the past, with big names such as David Villa, David Silva and Juan Mata all leaving to join European giants after making names for themselves at the Mestalla.
