The Gunners had a bid for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang rejected. Will another London club have better luck?
After seeing their rivals at Emirates Stadium have their bid for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang get rejected, another London club appears to be a lot closer to a deal.
According to the Metro, Tottenham Hotspur have the inside track to a deal with the 26-year-old Borrusia Dortmund superstar. Arsenal reportedly had a bid of £28 million rejected recently, but Tottenham appear set to match the German outfit’s asking price of £33.6 million for their prized scoring machine.
With rumors that Tottenham have already secured No. 6 leading scorer Saido Berahino (14 goals) to pair with superstar Harry Kane (21 goals), the addition of Aubameyang would give the Spurs arguably the most dangerous attacking front in the Premier League.
Aubameyang made his professional debut with Dijon in 2008 and had a breakout year with Saint-Etienne in 2011 with a 16-goal season. Since then, Aubameyang has demonstrated great consistency as a scoring threat and is coming off his fourth straight season with 13 goals or more. Last season Aubameyang recorded 16 league goals and a career-high 26 total goals, leading Borussia Dortmund in goals and assists while earning Bundesliga Team of the Year honors.
