Roy Hodgson defends Jack Wilshere’s shisha pipe antics

For the third time in his career Wilshere was pictured smoking recently and Wenger has damned the midfielder’s actions, but his England boss is not so critical.

Hodgson believes that what the 23-year-old did isn’t so bad and it clearly isn’t going to affect his chances in the Three Lions team.

“As an ex-cigar smoker when I tried it [shisha] I thought it was a complete nonsense, I couldn’t understand who would do it. Apart from a faint fruity taste in your mouth that was about the end of it. As far as I am concerned that is a club matter and Arsene Wenger dealt with it very, very well,” the 67-year-old was quoted by the Mirror.
