Sagna reveals decision to join City
Former Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna has revealed that two of his old Gunners team-mates persuaded him to leave the club and join them at Manchester City, according to the Daily Mail.
The French right-back allowed his contract with the Gunners to expire this summer, making the switch to rivals City on a free transfer, joining his old Emirates Stadium colleagues Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy at the Etihad Stadium.
“Yes, I spoke to them [Nasri and Clichy] many times,” Sagna said. “They knew I was free and wanted to move, and told me to come because they have a great team with a great mentality, who work hard and win trophies.”
