Manager watch – Arsene Wenger
The Frenchman has the chance to silence a lot of doubter this season, doubters that questioned him and his approach during the club’s nine years without a trophy in the aftermath of the stadium investment.
That silverware drought has been quenched with back-to-back FA Cup successes, but now Gooners want the big one. Should Wenger mastermind a title triumph this year, me may choose to bow out on top.
Realistic target
Champions. Arsenal seem as well equipped now to win the title as they have done over the last decade.
They have a world-class goalkeeper and a host of attacking options who can all chip in with goals.
If they add a top-class player at either end of the field before the end of the transfer window, they will take some stopping.
Predicted finish
Third. Wenger’s stubbornness and loyalty may be his undoing. Should Arsenal refuse to invest on somebody like Benzema, they may get left behind again.
You can bet that Manchester City will be spending before the deadline, and it will likely be Manuel Pellegrini’s men who push Chelsea the closest.
