Draxler to be ruled out for at least the remainder of 2014.
Arsenal’s hopes of securing the signing of long term target Julian Draxler from Schalke have suffered a huge blow, with the German international set to miss at least the rest of the calendar year with a hamstring injury.

Draxler was forced off less than a minute into Schalke’s 1-0 Bundesliga victory over mid-table Augsburg on Friday evening and the club’s general manager, Horst Heldt, did not give the most cheerful prognosis:
“He was again injured and it looks like a serious muscle injury. I do not expect Julian to play any more in this first half of the season.”
Draxler has been a long term target of Arsenal, who are believed to have attempted to sign the player both in the summer and last January, whilst Manchester United have also been linked with the dazzling young winger.
