The Gunners look set to rival the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea in the race to sign the 27-year-old attacker, who hit 28 goals and contributed ten assists in all competitions this season.
Higuain has been linked with Arsenal before, emerging as a top target for Arsene Wenger during his time with Real Madrid, though he instead opted for a move to Serie A.
Still, Gazzetta Dello Sport claims Arsenal could try again to bring in the Argentine forward, who would be an upgrade on the likes of Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck.
