Teenage defender to follow Fabregas and co. to the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal have pulled off another stunning raid on Barcelona to land 16-year-old wonderkid Julio Pleguezuelo Selva, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Gunners will be able to sign the youngster for a minimal compensation fee because Selva is yet to sign a professional contract at the Nou Camp.
Tottenham and Manchester City were also interested in the defender, who can play at right back or in the heart of defence.
If Arsenal were to sign the teenager, it would be the fifth time the north London club have raided the Catalans’ famous La Masia academy, after previously bringing Fran Merida, Jon Toral, Hector Bellerin and, most successfully, former captain Cesc Frabregas to the Emirates Stadium.
The move will surely leave Barca furious but Selva reportedly feels he can earn more money and have a better chance at first team football in the Premier League.
It is believed that Selva – along with Ecuadorian midfielder Josimar, who is also a target for Premier League clubs – snubbed offers of up to £15,000 per week to remain with the La Liga champions elect.
