The 19-year-old’s current deal at the Parc des Princes expires in 2015 and as a result as of January the midfielder can start discussing terms with foreign clubs.
AS Roma were keen to enter negotiations with Rabiot, but the player’s agent and mother rejected the approach from the Serie A club as they could not meet the wage demands.
Fellow Italians Inter Milan and Juventus have also shown interest in the past, but they are waiting it out until next summer to see where developments are.
This leaves the Gunners in prime position to sign the France Under-21 international, should manager Arsene Wenger decide it would be a useful deal.
Rabiot is a product of PSG’s youth academy and to date has played 43 games for them in all competitions since progressing into the first team in 2012.
