Gunners manager Arsene Wenger is keen to bring in a striker this January having allowed both Lukas Podolski and Yaya Sanogo to depart on loan, with Destro now the main target of the Frenchman as he continues to play a bit part role under Rudi Garcia.
Destro did come off the bench to salvage a point for his side in their trip to Palermo on Saturday, but former Lille manager Garcia still sees him as a supersub, with Francesco Totti tending to start in a false nine role.
