The 27 year-old former Real Mallorca, Celta Vigo and Valladolid start has been with Atletico for some four years – but has really struggled for game time since the start of last season, being left slightly behind by the club’s rise to the top of Spanish football.
This has alerted Arsenal and Manchester United, both of whom are keen on bringing in defensive midfield reinforcements in the January transfer window and could feel that Suarez may be a bargain as he continues to struggle to trouble the Atletico first team.
