Gunners closing in on a deal for Hajduk Split youngster Nikola Vlasic.

Croatia have been the most successful of the former Yugoslav states in footballing terms, and that is largely down to their production line of silky midfield playmakers, with Ivan Rakitic, Mateo Kovacic and Luka Modric currently occuping the central areas for Niko Kovac’s side – with Vlasic having been compared to a younger version of Real Madrid star Modric.
He currently plies his trade for Hajduk Split, traditionally one of the two biggest clubs in the country, but it looks increasingly likely that Vlasic will be moving on from Croatian football soon.
