Gunners and Liverpool ready to challenge Southampton for Celtic’s Wanyama.
Arsenal are among the clubs ready to rival Southampton for Celtic enforcer Victor Wanyama, reports the Daily Mail.
Saints have reportedly agreed a £10m fee with the Bhoys for the Kenyan midfielder but a host of clubs including Gunners, Liverpool and Inter Milan are set to submit rival bids.
The 21-year-old joined the Scottish Premier League champions from Belgian outfit Beerschot for just £900,000 two years ago but has impressed with his performances both domestically and in Europe for Neil Lennon’s side.
Wanyama was excellent as Celtic famously beat Barcelona in last season’s Champions League group stage, scoring the first goal in the 2-1 victory at Parkhead.
The powerful defensive midfielder has two years remaining on his current deal but Bhoys are reportedly resigned the losing the talented youngster.
Arsenal are in need of a new enforcer this summer, with Abou Diaby set to remain sidelined until at least Christmas after damaging his cruciate ligament last term.
