Aubameyang has been strongly linked with a move out of the Westfalenstadion this summer, and German newspaper Bild [via Metro] reports that the Gunners are preparing a £28.7m bid for the 26-year-old.
The Gabon international is believed to also have interest from La Liga giants Real Madrid, meaning Arsenal will have plenty of competition for the signature of the former St Etienne man.
Aubameyang was a shining light in what was otherwise a dark season for Dortmund, scoring 16 league goals as his side slumped to a seventh-placed finish.
His searing pace would help Arsenal create one of the most feared attacks in Europe alongside fellow speedsters Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott as Arsene Wenger looks to build a side capable of winning the Premier League title.
It is unlikely new Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel will want to lose one of his most prized assets the Gunners will have to dig deep into their coffers to tempt the Bundesliga side into selling Aubameyang.
