Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is prepared to bring back former skipper and one of his favourite players Cesc Fabregas to the Emirates, reports the Metro.
The Gunners are reportedly readying a 35 million pound bid for the 27-year old, who left Arsenal in 2011 as he wanted to play for his boyhood club Barcelona.
Fabregas is now said to be out of favour with the fans at Barcelona, and their new coach Luis Enrique too is not a big fan of the playmaker. Although Arsenal have a barrage of playmakers in their midfield, Fabregas’ past success and sheer technical quality make him too hard to ignore.
Arsenal’s arch rivals Manchester United are also said to be firmly in the hunt for Fabregas, but the Spaniard has reportedly told Wenger that he wanted to return to the North London club. The Gunners also have a buy-back first option clause inserted into the 27-year old’s contract, which makes them frontrunners to land him if Barca put him up for sale.
