The England international is expected to sign a contract worth around £100,000 at Anfield, making him one of Liverpool’s highest paid players, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.
Milner has chosen to move to Merseyside, rather than London, as it will allow him to keep his family based up North, rather than moving them to the other end of the country. He also hopes to win more opportunities to play in his favoured central midfield position, something he feels that he has a better chance of doing at Liverpool.
The former Aston Villa man has grown more and more frustrated with life at the Etihad Stadium, where he has often been used as a utility man by Manuel Pellegrini, playing out wide and even up front.
He’s played almost 200 games since joining City in 2011, while he’s also won two Premier League titles, the FA Cup and the League Cup.
