Arsenal captain has reportedly signed a new one-year extension to stay at the club, according to the Metro.

The 33-year-old liked up with the Gunners back in 2011, and has since gone on to make over 100 appearances for the north London giants, though it looked as if his future at the club was far from certain having made just seven appearances in the Premier League this term.
However, reports in the Daily Mirror now claim that he has agreed an extension to stay put for a further year.
The Spaniard notched up a penalty during his side’s 3-3 draw with Anderlecht in the Champions League back in November, but has since spent the majority of the campaign on the sidelines with an ankle injury that he has been unable to shake off.
Elsewhere, the Mirror also claims that fellow veteran midfielder Tomas Rosicky will likely end his own nine-year association with the club by accepting a free transfer.
