Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur could be on alert after the news that Manchester United have put Danny Welbeck up for sale, according to the Daily Telegraph.
The England international has been out of favour at Old Trafford for some time with a great deal of competition for places upfront at the club, and Louis van Gaal has seemingly told the player that he can leave this summer.
Other clubs have been linked with the 23-year-old in the past, though it now seems that there is strong interest from the two north London giants, who have both been chasing new signings upfront for much of this transfer window.
Arsenal have missed out on the likes of Mario Balotelli and Jackson Martinez, while Tottenham are thought to be tracking Loic Remy and Wilfried Bony as well as Welbeck, who may now be their top target after being made available by United.
