Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna tells his teammates he is leaving Arsenal on a free transfer this summer to join Manchester City.
The Daily Mirror reports that Arsenal’s 31-year old right-back Bacary Sagna has told his teammates that he will be leaving the Emirates at the end of the season to join the Premier League champions Manchester City.
Sagna has his old Arsenal mates and compatriots Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy for company at Manchester City, and it is believed that he has agreed terms to move to the Etihad at the end of the season.
Although Sagna will face stiff competition from Argentine ace Pablo Zabaleta for the first choice right back’s spot at Manchester City, the French international is prepared to make the switch as he feels disrespected by the 80,000 pounds per week wage offer handed to him at Arsenal.
Sagna is viewed as a versatile defender by Citizens’ boss Manuel Pellegrini, who knows that the he can deploy the seasoned veteran all across his back-four.
Arsenal’s FA Cup Final clash against Hull City on Saturday is expected to be Sagna’s last game for the Gunners.
