Rodgers felt that Alexis Sanchez dived to win a free kick in the 2-2 Premier League draw.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has accused Arsenal winger Alexis Sanchez of diving in the aftermath of today’s 2-2 Premier League draw between the sides at Anfield, report the Daily Star, with former Swansea and Reading manager Rodgers feeling that Sanchez had gone down easily to win the free kick that Mathie Debuchy scored from just before half time.

The Reds notably tried to sign Sanchez in the summer from Barcelona, but the Chilean opted for a move to North London instead, so perhaps there was a hint of bitterness in Rodgers’ comments when he criticised Sanchez for going down easily under a challenge from Steven Gerrard:
“Alexis Sanchez dived for me and the referee bought it, but we have to defend better. We lost three duels and we need to win the first one.”
Liverpool were able to rescue a deserved point at the death through a bullet header from central defender Martin Skrtel, but after dominating the game, both teams will be disappointed not to have won the match.
