Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has confirmed he is set to join Serie A giants AS Roma on loan.
According to Metro, the Polish international has agreed to join Roma on a one-year loan deal after being told by Arsene Wenger he would play second fiddle to former Chelsea man Petr Cech this season.
The 25-year-old will reportedly undergo a medical upon his arrival in Rome, and he confirmed the move was all but complete after posting a video on Instagram.
In the video, Szczesny says: “Good evening, Giallorossi supporters, I am very happy because tomorrow I am going to Rome. See you then.”
According to The Daily Mail, Roma were initially interested in having the option of making Szczesny’s move permanent next season, however, it now appears the former Legia Warsaw man will return to the Gunners following his one-year loan stint.
