French defender reportedly tells Wenger he is happy at the club.
Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny is ready to reject the advances of Barcelona and Bayern Munich, as he is happy at the Emirates.
According to The Sun, the French international has told Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger that he is happy at the club and has no intention of leaving this summer despite interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe.
The 27-year-old enjoyed a solid second half of the season at the heart of the Gunners defence, but his agent, Stephane Courbois, had previously revealed the standard of clubs chasing him this summer.
Nevertheless, should the latest reports be confirmed, it will come as a welcome boost to Wenger as he looks to strengthen the squad ahead of next season.
It is believed that the Gunners will continue in their pursuit of Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain, with the Argentine remaining their primary transfer target this summer.
However, there is a slight disparity between Wenger’s opening bid and the 25-year-old’s asking price, while Madrid also await appointing a successor to Jose Mourinho before making decisions on the squad.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are also reportedly leading the race to sign Spanish under-21 international defensive midfielder Asier Illarramendi.
The 23-year-old helped his club, Real Sociedad, qualify for the Champions League last season, and looks a fantastic prospect.
His arrival will undoubtedly bolster Wenger’s options as he looks to heavily invest in the squad this summer, but it remains to be seen as to whether he can strike agreements with his top two transfer targets.
