Gunners midfielder denies he was referring to Adnan Januzaj.
Jack Wilshere has hit out at the British press after following his comments about foreign nationals representing England.
Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson has admitted he wants Belgian-born Manchester United youngster Adnan Januzaj to play for England but, when questioned on the issue, Wilshere told a press conference: “The only people who should play for England are English people.”
But the Arsenal midfielder, 20, denied he was referring to 18-year-old Januzaj, who was born to Kosovar-Albanian parents and could also represent Serbia or Turkey, and said he wished the talented winger was English.
Just to clarify a few things….again! Seems to be a trend in this country, poor journalism in my eyes! I wasn’t referring to Janujaz…

The question was should foreign players be allowed to play for England, and in my opinion I don’t think they should! He is a great player… — Jack Wilshere (@JackWilshere) October 9, 2013
I wish he was English! I’m sure most of you agree with me even if some journalist are trying to make me look bad….again! — Jack Wilshere (@JackWilshere) October 9, 2013
