Arsenal star Mesut Ozil could join Turkish giants Fenerbahce should he decide to leave the Gunners, his agent says.
The 26-year-old joined the Premier League giants in a club record £42.5m transfer, but it is understood to Germany international is a big fan of the Istanbul-based club.
Ozil is of Turkish descent and grew up supporting Fenerbahce, and the midfielder’s agent Erkut Sogut admitted the former Real Madrid man would be keen to make the move to the club when he decides to leave Arsenal.
“We will see what happens at the end of the season but if he were to leave (then) Fenerbahce would be an option,” Sogut told newspaper Vatan, as reported by Turkish-Football.
“At the end of the day it is a huge club and I think Ozil would say yes to an offer if it came down to it but it is way too early to start talking about transfers.”
It seems unlikely Ozil will make the move to the Turkish Super Lig just yet, but it looks inevitable the supremely gifted playmaker will one day ply his trade at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium.
