The out-of-favour German had a loan spell at Inter last season given his lack of playing opportunities under Arsene Wenger in north London.
According to the Mirror, he is expected to complete a £2.3m switch to Galatasaray this summer which will finally end his disappointing stint with the Gunners.
“Yes there have been meetings with Galatasaray. I hope the transfer happens,” Podolski told Gala’s in-house TV station.
“I’d love to play at Galatasaray. The fans are great. They showed a great interest in me on social media.”
The 30-year-old failed to impress in Italy and so returned to Arsenal at the end of the season, and it isn’t expected that the Nerazzurri will be interested in a second deal.
As a result, with his playing time limited at the Emirates, Podolski may well be finally set for an exit which will undoubtedly leave the fans favourite’s supporters disappointed that he was unable to play a more important role for the club.
