Arsenal are in need of more depth at striker, and they are currently pursuing Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.
According to Goal.com, Gunners striker Olivier Giroud agrees that the team should invest in new attacking talent and would welcome the competition.
However, he tried to stay as mum as possible on the Benzema transfer rumours when asked about them.
“I’m not honouring this question. I’m trying to focus my on my pre-season preparations,” Giroud coldly replied.
Giroud has drawn criticism from Arsenal fans recently, despite scoring 14 goals in 27 Premier League appearances.
Fans and pundits are wondering whether he is reliable enough to lead a title-winnig squad, which Arsenal has lacked since 2004.
It is hard to argue that the Gunners should not pursue a La Liga star such as Benzema, as they struck gold with Alexis Sanchez last summer.
Sanchez led the Gunners with 16 goals in the 2014-15 season, and Benzema experienced similar success at Real Madrid.
The French international scored 87 goals in six seasons with the La Liga giants, and he helped lead them to a La Liga championship in 2012 and a UEFA Champions League title in 2014.
