Koscielny stuns Gunners with announcement.
Laurent Koscielny says he will leave Arsenal if they club does not show ambition this summer.
The France international centre-back has enjoyed a fine season for the Gunners and scored the winning goal in their crucial victory over Newcastle on the final day of the Premier League season, securing the club’s place in next year’s Champions League.
Bundesliga and European champions Bayern Munich have been linked with a £15m move for the 27-year-old and Koscielny has admitted he will leave Arsenal if the club does not match his ambition.
”I hope the club will show ambition, if not I’ll leave,” the Frenchman said in an interview with Eurosport.
Arsenal have sold a host of star players, including club captains Robin van Persie and Cesc Fabregas in recent seasons, but after a strong finish to the season, look set to invest in the squad this summer.
Before a near faultless Premier League run-in, the Gunners were knocked out of both domestic cups by lower league opposition and were struggling to finish inside the top four.
And Koscielny added that he did not want to experience a similar campaign with the club.
“Of course I want to know another championship. I don’t want to be fighting like we have this season because, psychologically, it is very tiring.
“I feel good at Arsenal, if we have ambition to fight against the other teams of course I want to stay here.”
