Arsenal leading-scorer Alexis Sanchez has made a request of team management to reunite him with one of his favorite international teammates.
According to the Metro, Sanchez has made a personal request to Gunners boss Arsene Wenger to buy his Chilean teammate Eduardo Vargas. The 25-year-old Napoli forward/winger is coming off a year on loan from Napoli to Queens Park Rangers in which he scored 4 goals in 21 league appearances. QPR was relegated at the end of the 2014-15 season.
Vargas won numerous honors as a member of Universided de Chile in 2011, scoring a total of 29 goals during the 2011 Chilean Primera Division season, winning awards for Best Player and Best Forward while also winning Copa Sudamericana awards for Top Scorer and Best Player. The Metro reported that the estimated price tag on Vargas will be £11.3 million.
After scoring a team-leading 16 league goals and 25 total goals while winning PFA Team of the Year honors and the PFA Fans’ Player of the Year award, Sanchez certainly has the means to make a request of that magnitude.
