Arteta believes that it’s the most open title race in years.
Now the Premier League is nine matches in people have started to get a feel of how things will go and Arsenal ace Mikel Arteta thinks it will stay very open.
The Gunners are top of the table with 22 points currently having won seven of their nine matches, but Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are all close by.
The vice-captain thinks that trio plus both Manchester City and current holders Manchester United will all be there or thereabouts come May.
“I think we have the quality, the desire and now we have the experience to be challenging for the title,” Arteta told the Mirror.
“But it’s still very early and I want to see when the tough moments come how we react to them.
“Chelsea are one hundred percent involved in the title race. You only need to look at the manager they’ve got [Jose Mourinho] and what he has done.
.
“City have got more quality and talent than anyone else and they have a manager who wants to play very attractive football. I think they have got a great chance to win it.
“I will be surprised if, by February or March, they [United] are not very close to the top of the league.
“Liverpool have probably the best attacking players in the league at the moment. If they can keep them, stay solid and carry on scoring freely, they will win a lot games. So why not Liverpool for the title?
“Tottenham are really consistent and they’re a good side.
“You’re talking about the most open and most difficult Premier League for a decade. Let’s see what happens – it’s going to be fun.”
If the English top tier is as open as the Spaniard predicts then football fans are going to be treated to a very exciting campaign.
